Winter is Golden

Last year (still weird saying that as it was only 2 days ago but still) I did a gold themed shoot which has to be one of my favourite shoots ever. It was so much fun and my team were just amazing. You can still watch the Behind the Scenes Vlog of this shoot on my youtube channel inclusing make up changes and how i got this hair. But now I can finally show you some of the final images from this shoot. 

We produced two different looks, one much softer than the other but both equally amazing. I still can't get over how gorgeous the dress was and how well it fitted me, if it was mine I'd wear to bed. It's also so lovely when you work with people who put you at ease at make you feel like you're around friends, which I like to consider them as now. This is definitely one of the more smiley shoots I've done, so many giggles on this day and a very fond memory of 2014. This was the perfect shoot to do just before christmas, so much sparkle and magic and I cannot wait to do other big shoots this year. Need to push myself out my comfort zone more this year with shoots and see how far I can get. 

Dream big and believe in yourself. No one can reach your goals but you, so don't let anyone get in the way and tell you otherwise. The people who tell you that you can't do it...let them be your motivation and prove them wrong!

Atlas Magazine

I would like to introduce you all to the amazing Atlas Magazine. My best friend Olivia Bossert, who you may have heard of through the lovely photography she does for FiveFootFour, runs her own fashion magazine, for up and comers in the fashion industry worldwide. She is trying to raise funds for the printing of the mag via Kickstarter. Go check out the campaign, there are loads of awesome rewards to get your hands on and please pledge! Autumn Hair Process

Literally so excited and nervous I could pop! The day is nearly here so I thought I would show you all the amazing process I have been doing with the very talented hairdresser Joanne Innis, at Capella Salon in Truro. It's found in Princess House and words cannot describe just how beautiful it is in there. As you may have guessed by now, yes my hair is changing, no more blonde, which I'm a little bit sad about. But change is always a good thing. 

As much hair is so blonde at the moment we have done a strand test to see how the different colours in my hair will react to the new colour. Scary as it looks little strands of my hair were cut off for these tests, although you can't tell at all. Then the colour was applied to all and left for the required amount of time...you will have to check in tomorrow to see the final result! 

FlashBack

Recently so many amazing opportunities have been given to FiveFootFour and it all got me thinking how far my journey has taken me. Some of you may already know this but it has been less than a year since I started modelling seriously. This shoot was my first ever published shoot and the images are still being used now on websites, social media and for Anna D'Souza (a very talented wedding dress and wedding accessories designer in Cornwall). Her work is simply breathtaking and the amazing pieces I was allowed to wear were just stunning. 

When the one year anniversary for this shoot comes around soon I will release the images on here and a special article for you all on the items and how I felt doing this shoot when I had never been published before or asked to do anything this important in my life. It's amazing how far my modelling has taken me, and without it FiveFootFour wouldn't be here, and without you guys it wouldn't be so successful and making my dream come true; so THANKYOU!

Vintage Wedding Guest

IT'S HERE; the post you have all been asking after.

BE OUR GUEST: VINTAGE WEDDINGS!

This was by far one of my favourite shoots I have ever done. I haven't done many vintage shoots but this was such a wonderful experience I hope there will be more I can share with you in the future. All the clothes were just beautiful and the team I was able to work with couldn't have been better. All the clothes were vintage and from a beautiful little boutique in Cornwall. I absolutely fell in love with the pale yellow dress that fitted me perfectly in all the right places with wonderful lace details.

I could have spent all day there getting lost in all the vintage bags, outfits and head pieces in the little shop but we had to get on with the shoot and I could not have had a better day and been looked better. Fingers crossed for more lovely shoots like this soon.

Shoots like this are a bit nerve wracking, having all eyes on you and walking around with the pubic shopping around you and taking their own photos through the windows, but it is all confidence building and eventually it all becomes a blur. All that matters is being yourself and showing off the amazing pieces I was so lucky to wear.

Keeping everything vintage including the make up but we kept with a pale peach lipstick and matching nail varnish for a small pop of colour against all the pales in the dresses.

All the outfits I wore in this shoot were from the boutique itself, including the shoes and bags. So if you're ever passing this beautiful wonderland pop in and get yourself lost in a vintage paradise.

Pengenna Manor

A little update for you all on the modelling front now. A few weeks ago I did a shoot at a wonderful wedding venue called Pengenna Manor in Cornwall. It was like a fairytale wedding venue, surrounded by trees, in a valley so all around you are green rolling hills and the manor itself was all stone with roses in the garden and cobbles around the grounds. Such a perfect place to get married.

For this shoot I was a bridesmaid wearing a gorgeous purple dress. The headwear were beautiful, with vintage beaded head dresses and fascinators. We were especially lucky with the weather as the valley made a wonderful sun trap.

To our surprise the owners of the venue had an old vintage tractor which they get out for the braid and groom at weddings held there with a very sweet vintage trailer they sit in on arrival to the venue or "aisle". 

I love doing wedding shoots so much as you meet so many new people, make great contacts and it always feels like a real wedding (just with much less guests). The photos from this shoot can now be found in Issue 30 of WED Magazine. I also feature in a different article in this Issue on what to wear as a vintage wedding guest. These images will be released on here as soon as I'm allowed to share them with you!

Start Story

Some of you have been sending in messages asking how I got into modelling so I thought I'd write a post telling you the story.
I started working for DeJetleyMarks Photography last summer (2013) helping with shoots and directing when the photographer asked if I wanted to have a shoot done. Although you can't really do anything wrong I was nervous as I' never done it before. When I moved down to Falmouth and began modelling here I was still nervous but with each shoot my confidence grew and I became more relaxed in front of the camera. For me it's my therapy and I can't imagine my life without it now.
This was one of my first shoots, which turned out to very popular with the public when it featured as the front cover of a local online magazine.
