Tea, Cake and Two Redheads Part Two

Welcome to the final part to my morning blogging with the beautiful lady, Megan McMinn from BriarRose blog. I promised you super cute outfits and here they are, some outfits and details to inspire you through spring and into summer.

I was blessed enough to be sent an absolutely beautiful bag from Radley so had to show this off in this post as it's so bright and colourful it's 100% my summer fave. I styled this with nude heels from BillieXShoes and a white dress with floral details from ASOS so the colour really stands out and pops. It really was bag heaven with Megan, her Ted Baker pale pink handbag was to die for and suited her outfit perfectly.

The last outfit of the morning was my blue and white stripped Jack Wills dress which is an all time favourite of mine. It's so sweet and summery it's always something I can't wait to get out of my wardrobe; it's like a casual cinderella dress. Paired with brown suede wedges from Topshop which are super comfy and perfect in summer when you have garden parties...no sinking into the floor in these babies.

We finished our morning with more tea and cakes in the garden and planning our next blogging date when Megan is back in Cornwall, hope you come back soon. The sweetest girl I've had the pleasure of meeting and hopefully will meet up with more for coffees and outfit sharing. If you haven't already followed her blog it's theBriarRoseblog

Thankyou Megan for a lovely morning and thankyou Emma Griffin for putting up with our giggles while you were trying to take photos!

Tea, Cake and Two Redheads - Part One

I'm back! It's been a crazy week with a very last minute trip to London so apologies for not posting for a few days.

This is the first part to a two part blog feature with the absolutely beautiful Megan McMinn from the BriarRose blog. I was invited to her lovely home, while she was back in cornwall for a few days, for a morning of cakes, tea and shooting some fun pastel themed outfits with my favourite photographer Emma Griffin from Griffin Photography

If you haven't heard of Megan before she is literally one of my favourite bloggers with a wardrobe to die for, so if you love disney, flawless make up and adorable outfits then give her a follow. I for one am totally crushing over her ice cream bag from SkinnyDipLondon, definitely a shop I will be pushing money into in the future.

In the next part of this morning of sweetness there will be cats, polaroids and more super cute outfits!

My Style Era

Online quizzes are something I love doing just out of curiosity of what result I'll get, so when this quiz came to my attention by Glitzy Secrets on what is your true style era I had to give it a go. Amazingly my result is the Funky 70's which fits perfectly as that is what a lot of my style has been about recently so I have put together a little post for you all about what I love about 70's style and pieces on the high street now that are inspired from the era. You can take the quiz with Glitzy Secrets here and see what your Style era is.

I absolutely love the bright shirts, big hats and volume crazy hair styles. The 70's were definitely an inspiring era filled with amazing fashion styles! I recently did a 70's inspired shoot which was incredible and these are two of my favourite images. I wore all original 70's pieces but definitely an outfit I'd wear all the time now. The bold patterns are making a glorious come back which aren't to everyones taste but there will always be something for everyone. More photos from this shoot can be found in the latest issue of Vintage Life Magazine.

Not long after that shoot I was lucky enough to shoot in an original 70's wedding dress and it was incredible. Now we'd call this more boho but the floaty frill at the top and the ways it hangs, everything was stunning about this, why wouldn't you want to wear this now?

As well as original pieces being absolutely fabulous, the 70's have broken back into some of my favourite high street stores updating the pieces a little creating a modern 70's style. The 70's are definitely coming back so get in now to stay on trend and super funky.  Here is some of my favourite pulls from our high street stores.

Sprinkle Your Sparkle, Always

We have been having some wonderful sun, which has been rumoured to be sticking around for a few weeks, so I've been making the most of it while it's here. Things like this I find we always take for granted, in winter it's too cold and in summer it's too hot. In my opinion we need to look past how WE feel all the time and see the beauty all around us. Life doesn't stop being enjoyable because of the weather, that is just how you look at life.

I'm trying a new thing at the moment that when I start to feel down or worried about things I tell myself to be aware of what's happening right now. What's happening outside, what things look like, what I'm doing etc. Things to take my mind off the negatives and onto the beauty in the present. So far it's working like a dream so if you think this can help you I highly suggest you try it and let me know how you get on.

As part of a spring lookbook I shot in this absolutely beautiful sequin number in the spring sunshine. I love this dress so much and in the sunshine it becomes even more amazing reflecting light everywhere. Such a beautiful design and I cannot wait to wear this more and more this summer. Sometimes it's perfect to throw on a stunning piece of clothing and feel fabulous, this is exactly what this sparkling beauty does.

Thankyou to Holly Kenyon for being my gorgeous photographer.
