Mermaid Lip Technique

So I've been meaning to do this for a while but only just got around to posting it. I have a little technique that I do when I do my ombre lips or just use lip liner to make sure its done evenly on both sides. I don't know if this will help anyone but thought I'd put a quick little post up anyway. I will eventually get around to doing some more videos when I have settled into my new place, I'll definitely do a new house tour.

Basically how I start is by drawing a cross on the two points of my cupids bow and cross them in the middle. Then start the upper lip from the corners of my mouth, follow the line along the edge of your lip up to the two point you made with the cross.

The bottom lip is always the easiest, just follow the lip edge along. I usually start in the middle and join up the line to the corners of my mouth. For a subtle ombre look I used my lip liner to colour in the corners of my lips and bring them out half way up both lips. Then with a slightly lighter lipstick fill in the gaps, make sure you don't apply the lipstick from one corner right across to the other as this will bring the lip liner into the lighter area.

Then you're all done!

This was the lip look I used for my Mermaid Swimwear series and one of my personal favourites, Kinda Sexy and Spice go so well together, right now they are my highest recommendation! Hope this gave you guys something fun to play with and let me know how you find this way of applying it.

From Brown To Better

A couple of weeks ago I had a bit of a meltdown as I was going to model for a new hair salon opening up down here and for which I had to have my hair cut and coloured to show off the skills of the new salon. Unfortunately it didn't go to plan and I ended up with very dark hair...which for me was basically horrific. I love being a red head and for me to suddenly have brown hair was NOT at all ok. Having red hair is like my signature so I was pretty annoyed to have it all ruined.

Thankfully my lovely hairdresser Jo Innis from GoldBirdHairDesign could fit me in and I thought I would document the process from going dark to light for you! It was a pretty exciting day purely because I love seeing hair transformations. As you can see it's SO much nicer now and a lot brighter than I even was before the brown happened.

We had to first give my hair a bleach bath, which scared me as I didn't want all my hair to fall out, but it was amazing and lifted my hair so much there was no more brown. The we applied the new red and gave it a super good condition. The best thing about GoldBirdHairDesign is her magic hands when you have the treatment put on she gives you the best head massage, it's just insane! And as you can see I left feeling so much better and even managed to fit in some quick photos for Holly Young Headwear

So anyone down in cornwall wants an amazing hair dresser I couldn't recommend Joanne Innis more and she's just an overall a very sweet person. HUGE THANKYOU!

Afternoon Tea For Being 23

It has been a mental first week of being 23, travelling to London, spending a day with Jack Wills for their Seasonnaires, travelling back to Cornwall, having my Graduation Ball and having work, but it's been such a lovely, exciting week. I have finally got a chance to show you all the lovely lunch party I had for my birthday.

Usually I do something big and make a weekend of it but this year I just wanted something little with my favourite people. As this was the first year of not being at my family home for my birthday at all I just wanted something cute and relaxed. What better than afternoon tea in a vintage tearoom with my prettiest friends. I wore my new stunning Jones and Jones dress which is a huge favourite right now and I can't wait to get it out more while the sun is shining!

We had little sandwiches, scones and tea and I received some wonderful gifts, one of which I will blogging as one of my best friends bought me a spa with her which we are going on tomorrow and I cannot wait! I was also gifted my Polaroid camera, some wonderful flowers, 1KG of nutella (you totally know my excitement for this), a lovely sign to hang in my next flat, some treats and mermaid necklace, some MAC favourites and comforts and so much more and I can't thank my friends and family enough for being so thoughtful and amazing to me!

I find these days it is more about who you spend your birthday with and not what you receive. When you're little all you think about is the presents and getting surprises, the gifts I was given were all so thoughtful and unexpected, but it was so much more special to be spending some quality time with those who have been there for me through thick and thin. After all one of the greatest gifts is a true friendship, it doesn't come along everyday so when you have that true level of friendship, hold onto it forever. The memories of this day are more then enough to keep with me forever. But a huge thank you to everyone for sending me lovely things, for the messages, the cards, the wishes, I'm grateful for them all and the thought behind them was so lovely! And a big thankyou to my lovely photographer, friend and second mother who looks after me down here for taking photos (hers are the good ones the rest are bad selfies)!

Jack Wills Seasonnaires Day

As I'm sure you all know, from the amount I spammed on snapchat, twitter and instagram, that I spent my tuesday in London with Jack Wills on a Seasonnaires Day.

I have followed this inspirational brand since I was a young teen and it's always been my favourite purely because of how they tell their story and their strong brand values, so to be invited for a day of Jack Wills themed fun, you can imagine how excited and super happy I was to be there.

We started our morning off at the HQ with some breakfast and activities to help us get to know eachother better. It was crazy how fast we all became friends and clicked, maybe we were just lucky to have such a great group of people all very like minded and enthusiastic. After a run down of what seasonnaires will do over summer and a bit about their brand and how it's run we were then split into two teams...I'm sure from the hashtag you guys know I was Team Navy! (GO TEAM)

We were set a challenge to go into Battersea Park and create a Jack Wills Picnic and get the public involved in our teams event. Can I just say this was SUCH a fun challenge and I had no idea this was what we were going to be doing but it was insane and so much fun! We went with the idea of a Fabulous Tea Party in the park. I'm glad I said to put the Pimm's in teapots as the public loved the little touches and laid out all together with sandwiches and the cakes and scones (my arty side was unleashed) it was so much setting it all up! The team were literally so funny and we all bonded so fast it was like we had always been friends. It was a little sad when we had to pack our camp up and head onwards but the experience isn't one I'll be forgetting fast.

After a day full of laughs, random conversations, playing charades by the river getting weird looks off the public and driving through the city in the Land Rovers, we headed to a pub to have a chat and say goodbye. It was a little emotional. Fingers crossed I'll be spending the summer with an incredible brand and getting you guys involved in some awesome events we'll be holding.

Goodluck to all the other Seasonnaires, you were fabulous and HUGE thankyou to Jack Wills for the amazing day and the amazing goodie bag!
